The Blessing in a Smile.

Image
This post is especially for women. A lot of us think that looking unapproachable makes us look more attractive. I was one of those women. I thought that given a "mean mug" gave me a better sex appeal., not realizing that it actually made it harder for me to connect with others. One day I sat and scrolled through my photos posted on Facebook and I was in disbelief about how many pictures I did not smile in. I even compared photos of me smiling and not smiling. I found that I got more compliments when I smiled as opposed to when I didn't smile. At that moment I realized how perception is everything. "A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones."  Proverbs 17:22.  A smile goes a long way. Your smile can alter someone's day. We should always be a reflection of God. Allow others to see the light of God through your smile. Be Blessed!

Blessed with discernment.

God has called us to be wise in this season. With every decision you make you must be wise. You must be wise with how you live and with who you choose to live. "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves" Matthew 10:16.  We live in a world where you have to out smart the devil and his evil ways. You have to be able to crush the head of the serpent. Be mindful of those who are among you. You have to be mindful of those who are not on the same level as you. “Don't burn down the school just because you graduated.” God has given you the spirit of discernment to discern. It is okay to have distance in this season. Do not worry about the reaction you receive from being distant. Pray for wisdom to be unleashed in you. God will give you what to say and how to move. He will show you how to be as harmless as doves. Be Blessed!

Blessed with faith.

Often times our faith becomes weary. We start to doubt the very thing God has promised us. We become angry and frustrated. We lose faith in what God can do because he hasn't moved. We turn our backs on the very person who can help us. The only one who can help us is God. Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” This scripture teaches us that God will make things work out as long as it's for his good and it is according to his purpose. God needs you to make up in your mind that you will say yes to his will. He needs your heart, mind, and soul to say yes to his will. You can’t be afraid to step out on his glory. He needs you to keep the faith in him. When is the last time you said: “Lord I trust you?” When is the last time you step out of the way and allowed God to take the lead in your life? There's a blessing that comes with having faith in God. That blessing is God’s p...

The Blessing in Supporting Others

Image
I was born in a generation where ideas seem repetitive. Some people would say “monkey see monkey do”. Who are we to assume someone is doing something just because others are doing it? How do we know God hasn’t called them to do the very same thing you’re doing? We often become envious or intimidated by our peers. We never want the next person to have one upon us. This generation is quick to bash one another instead of encouraging or challenging one another to do better. Why not ask how they have become so good at what they do? Compliment each other's work. God honors the love we give to others. The bible said in Roman 13:10 “Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”  Love your neighbor no matter what just as Christ loves you.  It’s okay if someone does something better. It’s okay if everyone is doing the same thing. Do what God is calling you to do. When you do it, do it with love. Be Blessed!

Blessed With Growth.

Have you ever reflected on how far you have come? Have you reflected on your growth and development lately? There was a time I was very immature. I knew better, but I didn't know better. I would react to things that didn't deserve a reaction. The smallest thing would get me worked up. I questioned things that mean nothing to me now. I reflected on my spiritual development. I was introduced to the Faith like a child and thought I knew God. In reality I didn't know God. I believed in him but didn't know him. I had no idea how sweet and gentle he was. I knew nothing about the grace and mercy he gives. I didn't appreciate Jesus dying for my sins. My actions and words showed just how much I knew God. "You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God's words" Hebrew 5:12 Believing in God and applying his word to my life helped mature me. Yes, Jesus loves th...
