Blessed With Growth.

Have you ever reflected on how far you have come? Have you reflected on your growth and development lately? There was a time I was very immature. I knew better, but I didn't know better. I would react to things that didn't deserve a reaction. The smallest thing would get me worked up. I questioned things that mean nothing to me now.

I reflected on my spiritual development. I was introduced to the Faith like a child and thought I knew God. In reality I didn't know God. I believed in him but didn't know him. I had no idea how sweet and gentle he was. I knew nothing about the grace and mercy he gives. I didn't appreciate Jesus dying for my sins. My actions and words showed just how much I knew God. "You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God's words" Hebrew 5:12

 Believing in God and applying his word to my life helped mature me. Yes, Jesus loves the little children, but he does want you to stay a babe in Christ? He is looking for a mature Christian to fulfill his will. It is time to grow up! We have work to do. God is switching us over to "solid food", which is the word of God. He knew us before we were born. He picked us to stand by his son. It is time for us to grow as Christians. Once you grow up watching how he blesses you.

Blessing in Friendships.

We all know by now that friendships don’t always last forever. Some friendships are just for a season. In that season God uses that person(s) to bring something out of you. I’m in a space in life where my circle of friends has changed. Although God has replaced the friends I have lost; I am truly grateful for each friendship. In this season God has given me friends that have become my sisters through Christ. Each one of them has played a part in my spiritual development; rather it is to hold me accountable for my thoughts and actions or to push me to new heights in my walk with Christ. God has given me sisters who won’t let me go back to partying and drinking alcohol. He has given me sisters to remind me of the spiritual gifts he has implanted in me. The Blessing in a Breakthrough!

I have been going back and forth about doing this post. It has been tough to write about what I am currently dealing with. I am waiting for my “breakthrough”. Week after week the enemy has been attacking me. Now, most will say “when the enemy is working hard to break you, you are about to reach your breakthrough.” This post is not only to encourage you but to encourage me. The enemy has a job and that is to kill, steal, and destroy according to John 10:10.  We have to stand strong and trust in the Lord through these trying times. God will always be there.  “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
