Blessed with love

Sometimes the very thing that breaks us will help push us closer to God. I have found myself so broken by past relationships. All God ever wanted was for me to put him first. I struggled with dating from a worldly view. It never worked for me.

I realized that my relationships would always fail because they weren’t of God. I first needed to learn to love God as well as love myself. I needed to believe everything that God said about me. I had to stop settling for less. I increased my prayer life. I didn’t need to tell God what I wanted because he already knew what I needed.“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”Jeremiah‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬. I stopped focusing on my relationship with men and directed that energy to God.

I prayed “Lord when you feel I am ready you know the type of man I need.” I decided that I didn’t want to just ”date”, but that I wanted to “court” with the next guy. Courting begins with spiritual oneness, then emotional oneness, and finally physical oneness.  I turned down every man that didn’t want what I wanted spiritual, which is how I knew they weren’t sent by God.

God sent the man he wanted for me, which was not my ideal guy. Who would have thought he would be my fiancé today? He knew I needed a positive father figure for my daughter. He knew I needed a partner to push me spiritual and to do ministry work with.

When God sends you a spouse it’s not just for you, it’s for him! Your spouse should be someone you can do kingdom work with. Your purpose should be aligned with theirs. As a wife, you are the helpmate to your husband. We must align our lives with God’s plan. Seek him first and he will provide you with what you need!

Be Blessed!
