The Blessing In Little People.
There are so many blessings that come with having children. On December 13, 2016, God blessed me with a beautiful little girl. Although, my relationship with her father wasn't your "fairy tale story", there was a blessing in her birth. Having my daughter lead me back to Christ.
I was not new to the Christian faith, but I chose not to live the life of a believer. On September 23, 2017, I decided to christen my daughter, which was the first step of how God used her life to draw me closer to him. From that day forward I made the decision to take my daughter to church every Sunday. Proverb 22:6 "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it". I stand strong on that scripture. My grandmother took me to church faithfully as a child. Even though I went astray, here I am in my late 20s proud to say I am a woman of God.
Afraid that my daughter would make all the terrible decisions I made; I begin to change my lifestyle. I gave up many ungodly habits. On May 19, 2018, I officially became a member of a church. I then joined a mentor group for young girls in my church. I even made the decision to go back to school to counsel people.
As you can see with every decision, I made to protect my daughter, God found his way to be in the mist. I was still dealing with my own mess in the world and struggling to be the best mom. On February 28, 2019, I joined a women's ministry, which pushed me to surrender all to God.
Since surrendering my life to our father God being a mother has become slightly easier. I know that God is guiding me. My spiritual journey has not only pushed me to grow closer to God but also a closer relationship with my daughter. I just wanted to remind you when you're struggling with parenting to think of the blessing that comes with having a child.
Be Blessed!
