The Blessing In My Blog !

Image
May 2019 I decided I wanted to start a blog page. I had zero experience with blogging, but I knew this was something I wanted to do. I allowed the Holy Spirit to use me through blogging. I studied the word of God more then I have ever in my life. Week after week I sent my blogs out to close peers even the ones who weren't believers. Since starting my blog page one of my readers has given her life to Christ. She would send me messages saying how my blogs were changing her mindset. God gives us the ability to plant or water seeds. " The one who plants and the one who waters work together for the same purpose." 1 Corinthians 3:8.  I use my blog for one purpose. That purpose is to be a blessing to someone else so God can make a difference in their life as he has done in mine. I am okay with being the one who plants the seed.  I thank God for giving me the talent to write. God has given you a talent.  Use your talent to be a blessing to someone else. Be Blessed!

Blessed With A Good Teacher.

Image
We live in a culture filled with lies. This generation is not teachable. They want you to tell them what they want to hear as opposed to what they need to hear. This generation wants to hear what makes them feel good instead of what makes them better. They are comfortable living through the lies of the enemy because it puts them on a high horse. God is looking for good teachers in this season. He wants people who aren't afraid, to tell the truth, and live the truth; even if that means you have to be different.  "Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth."  2 Timothy 2:15. You will have friends who will ask you for your opinion and you can't be afraid to tell them the truth. You can not be afraid to teach the word of God. There's a blessing that comes with correction. Lead by example. Preach the good new despite how it looks and how ot...

The Blessing In Brokenness!

Image
We are all victims of brokenness. God has called the "broken".Through your brokenness, there is a triumph. We shall overcome by the blood of the lamb. Brokenness is designed to destroy your purpose, but with faith in God, your purpose cannot be destroyed. "Do not touch My anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm" Psalms 105:15. Your brokenness is apart of your testimony. Most people would say "you are damaged goods" because you have been shattered. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit" Psalms 34:18.  When a believer is broken it causes you to seek the Lord harder than you ever have before. That is all God wants from us. I was in a relationship that I thought was heaven sent. Deep down inside I knew with all the toxic things we were going through that God did not place me in that relationship. The relationship broke me down and the only thing that could lift me back up was God. My broke...

The Blessing In An Accountability Partner!

Image
There are times we all slack off. I recall a time before I had completely given my life to Christ, I had fallen short. I was battling wanting to be like my friends and wanting to live for Christ. I had gone out to the club one night with my friend. The outfit I wore was inappropriate. I was uncomfortable in it, but I wanted to look like everyone else. I felt convicted.  After church that Sunday one of my fellow sisters pulled me aside and she said "Have you lost your mind? What's going on with you? I have seen the outfit you wore the other night in a picture that was posted on Facebook." At that moment I realize that I could no longer live a double life. I knew I had to choose who I wanted to serve. My decision was to live for Christ. I thank God for my accountability partner. Iron sharpens iron. My life changed for the better. I shared this to say it's okay to be an accountability partner. It's okay to check up on each other. We do not know what someone is b...

Blessed With The Armor Of God.

Image
The enemy has a job to do. His job is to kill, steal, and destroy. We learn that in John 10:10.  He strives to do all he can do to us. God gave us a gift and it's called the Armor of God. We must always use the armor of God when we are on the battlefield with the enemy. There were times I thought the devil had won. There were times I wanted to throw in the towel, but God said: “put on the armor and fight back in the Spirit.” It's time for you to put on the belt of truth. You know who you are in Christ. You no longer have to believe the lies of the enemy. Put on the breastplate of righteousness for God purchased you at a high price. Satan's attacks can't match our righteousness. Put on the shoes of peace, which come with the good news of the gospel. Hold up your shield of faith to block the enemy's attack. Put on the helmet of salvation, which is our impenetrable defense against satan's attacks. Finally, take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of Go...

The Blessing That Comes When It Rains.

Image
We use the expression "when it rains, it pours" quite often. Most of the time we use the expression when life becomes harder than usual or when we experience tribulation after tribulation. How many of you know that we need the rain to help our seeds grow? When life gets out of hand just know your seed is about to grow. "Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from the heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness" ACTS 14:17.  God provides the rain in your life so we can fill our hearts up with gladness. Our tribulations are apart of our testimonies. There's a blessing that comes at the end of the storm. The rain in your life isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes it is needed so that you can grow. Hold on tight and don't give up the fight; the sun will shine again. Be Blessed!

Blessed With A Vision.

Image
Sometimes we second guess the vision given to us from God. We box out the authority we have. We don't think we are capable of making the vision come to fruition. We ponder on the very thing God has given us to birth. We search for confirmation. We ask others for their opinion.  We look for reasons and excuses as to why we aren't qualified to get it done. We seek prophecies after prophecies before we finally decide to make a move. A lot of us are just like Gideon. Just as God helped Gideon overcome the very thing he told him to do, he can do the same for you. God is looking for people who trust him. He wants you to step back and allow him to guide you.  "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding." Proverb 3:5. If God gave you the vision then it shall come to fruition as long as you do the work.  There is no devil who can stop what God wants for us. Trust the process. Be Blessed!

Blessed With Authority!

Image
How many times have you said something and it happened? We often hear people use expressions such as “Speak it into existence” or “ Be careful what you wish for; you just might get it”. I am a believer in both, but I wasn’t always. The bible teaches us that we have the power of life and death in our tongues. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18:21‬ ‭NKJV‬ I am a victim of speaking negative things in my life. Some times I am a victim of my own negative thoughts. I am still working on shifting the way that I think. I’m practicing when those thoughts come to think of something positive. I am getting better with not speaking negative things into my life. God showed me just how much power and authority I had in my tongue. For example early this year I would say “I am going to be married by the end of the year” or “Watch by the end of the year I’ll be a wife.” Not realizing I was speaking marriage into my life. Now h...

Blessed With Acceptance!

Image
“May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  Romans‬ ‭15:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬.  God has created each of us to be different. It’s not by accident we each have our own fingerprint. Everyone may not dress the way you dress, talk the way you talk, or even carry their selves the way you do. God has created some of us small, tall, thicker, and thinner, but he loves us equally. Although we come from different backgrounds, we still serve the same God. God doesn’t see us as color. All he sees is his children. Everyone won’t be your “cup of tea”. , but it is time to accept one another as Christ has accepted us even through our mess. We are perfect people. We all fall short of his glory. God wants us all to become one voice. The voice that spreads the gospel. If you are s...

The Blessing in a Breakthrough!

Image
I have been going back and forth about doing this post. It has been tough to write about what I am currently dealing with. I am waiting for my “breakthrough”. Week after week the enemy has been attacking me. Now, most will say “when the enemy is working hard to break you, you are about to reach your breakthrough.” This post is not only to encourage you but to encourage me. The enemy has a job and that is to kill, steal, and destroy according to John 10:10.  We have to stand strong and trust in the Lord through these trying times. God will always be there.  “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.”  Isaiah‬ ‭43:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ We are not to fear the things that satan is throwing at us. Even when it seems like the trials and tribulations are never-ending. God has our backs. He will provide you with the strength and reso...

The Blessing In Suffering!

Image
We experience many trials and tribulations throughout our lives on earth. I know I have "suffered" from life "mishaps." I have been bullied, physically, emotionally, and mentally abused. I had thoughts of suicide that I have never discussed with others. I know many of my readers are reading this probably in shock. Thank you, Father God, for transparency. When we turn our lives over to God we expect everything to be a walk in the park. This walk isn't easy. It's spiritual warfare going on everywhere. "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down the stronghold." 2 Corinthians 10:4.  We have to learn to fight in the spirit. We have to learn that the word of God and prayer are our weapons to fight back against the enemy. Allow the Holy Spirit to be your guide. God rewards faithfulness. We just have to stay faithful to him and continue to honor him. We must continue to read his word and seek his face.  ...

Blessed with witness protection.

Image
The life of a Christian isn’t easy to live. We are constantly being watched and judged. We are not perfect people. We all fall short of his glory. “ For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans‬ ‭3:23‬ ‭NLT ‬ As a believer, you have to be cautious of what you wear, what you say, and how you do things. I call it “ Protecting your witness” . You have to protect your witness at all times. Someone is always watching you. As a believer, you can’t participate in the things of this world. “Don’t participate in the things these people do.” Ephesians‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬ I was recently in a situation that involves me protecting my witness. I have friends who still do things I used to do. I was tempted to drink alcohol. If you have been following my blog then you know I just posted I have been 7 months free of alcohol. Things were said to me that seems pretty convincing, but I did not give in. I’m not saying I don’t fall short of God’s glory, but I had to pro...

The Blessing in Commitment.

Image
I hear often that God moved fast through me. God has the power to make anything happen when you surrender all to him. I am still in a space where I need to be pushed and cultivated. I’m pretty sure many of you are in the same space as well. Just last year I was living in sin. I was still drinking , fornicating, and occasionally clubbing. I made a vow to God to stay pure. Although, I may struggle to keep it, I’m still pushing. We are not a perfect people and we all fall short. I wanted to share that I am 7 months free from drinking alcohol, which is a huge accomplishment for me. Alcohol has always been the outlet for my problems. God honors those who honor him. I have kept my word on seeking God first and because of this he is blessing me in many ways. I wanted to motivate you all to keep seeking God’s face. Even when that dark cloud appears. God only wants to love on us. We have to push through. Stay in prayer and in the word of God. Be obedient and watch God’s blessing fall. ...

The Blessings Will Come When You Talk To God!

Image
Often times we find ourselves in what we call “a waiting season.” In this season we say things like “ I’m waiting on God to move” or “I’m waiting on God to speak.” We recite scriptures such as  “Be still in the presence of the Lord and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.”   Psalms‬ ‭37:7‬ ‭NLT ‬‬  or   “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.”  Psalms‬ ‭62:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬ We sit impatiently waiting on God to do things in our lives. We wait for confirmation on our next steps. In that time of waiting, we do more complaining about when God will move opposed to talking to our Father. I’ll be the first to admit I get impatient with God. We become frustrated and we say things like “I still haven’t heard from God” or “I don’t think God wants what’s best for me” or at least what we think is b...

Blessed with confidence.

Image
Have you ever felt hopeless? Have you ever felt like no matter what you do you won't pull through a situation or things may not happen the way you plan? I know I definitely have. I have felt lost and confused. I have been on the verge of quitting. Then there is always that voice inside of me that reminds me to trust and have faith in the Lord. That voice on the inside of me is the Holy Spirit. All who know Christ have the Holy Spirit inside them. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. Have confidence that he will never fail you. All God wants is for us to have confidence in him. He wants us to give all our worries to him and allow him to give provision on a situation.  1 Peter 5:7  "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."  Roman 15:13  " Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit."   When you put your trust in God he will fill you up with joy. He will give ...

The Blessing in Withdrawing.

Image
There are often times that we find ourselves stuck in situations we can’t get out of. It’s like we’re trying to find our way out of a maze. We search everywhere for answers and they can not be found. We’ll go to our friends, spouse, and/or family for help, but never do we think to turn to God first. There are times I turn away from social media and I distant my self from people. It’s not because I’m angry or upset with anyone, but it’s simply because I need the guidance from the Lord.  “ But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.”   Luke 5:16 NLT .  This scripture taught me that sometimes we have to withdraw from our everyday life and dive deep into prayer. When you find yourself in the “ wilderness ” of life there’s only one thing to do and that’s pray. Seek God and allow him to lead the way. It’s okay to separate from social media. Sometimes those things are distractions from what God is trying to do in your life. God is often trying to take us places ...

Blessed with an account.

Image
The enemy has a way of trying to intimidate us. I allowed him to get into my mind for a very long time. Afraid to be me, afraid to be who God has called me to be. God has reminded me that I am his and that he loves me, just like he loves each of you. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves of who we are in Christ. For a long time, I was embarrassed to show the world that I had found Christ. I wasn’t embarrassed by God but embarrassed of my own past. I had sinned so much that I allowed that to be my excuse for keeping quiet about God. I thought who would listen to me after all the things I had done? How can I be a witness of Christ after the sins I have committed? I thought people would always reflect on the bad and not the good.  Then I realized those were all seeds planted by the enemy. He knew that my testimony would touch others. He knew that my life would be an example no matter what I had done. It’s not too late to live for Christ. God has been good to me on countless occasi...

Blessed with love

Image
Sometimes the very thing that breaks us will help push us closer to God. I have found myself so broken by past relationships. All God ever wanted was for me to put him first. I struggled with dating from a worldly view. It never worked for me. I realized that my relationships would always fail because they weren’t of God. I first needed to learn to love God as well as love myself. I needed to believe everything that God said about me. I had to stop settling for less. I increased my prayer life. I didn’t need to tell God what I wanted because he already knew what I needed. “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”Jeremiah‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NLT ‬‬. I stopped focusing on my relationship with men and directed that energy to God.  I prayed “Lord when you feel I am ready you know the type of man I need.” I decided that I didn’t want to just ”date”, but that I wanted to “court” with ...

Blessed with a Father who loves me.

Image
I was a single mother who struggled with low self-esteem.  I didn’t love  myself. Seeking  attention from men by wearing  provocative clothing is what I did.  I had daddy issues!  Yes ,  I was blessed with a stepfather, but I have to admit I was envious of my siblings for having a biological father who loved them.  Having an absent father made me question “how can I trust God when I can’t trust my father here on earth? ”  Trying to fill that void of my “father’s love” I fell for any man who blinked my way.   Proverb 31:10 “A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies .” That scripture spoke volumes to me. Understanding how much God values and loves us changed me.  God looks at us to be more precious than rubies, how could we ever think less of ourselves? 1 Corinthians 6:19 -20  “Don’t you realize that your body  is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You d...

Blessed with spiritual gifts.

Image
Do you know what your spiritual gift(s) are? God has instilled in each of us a spiritual gift. “A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:7‬. It took me a while to learn what my spiritual gifts were. It wasn’t until I gave God full access to my life that I learned. I was given the gift of exhortation, which is part of the reason I started this blog page. God showed me Luke 1:1-4 in a dream, which reads “Many people have set out to write accounts about the events that have been fulfilled among us. They used the eyewitness reports circulating among us from the early disciples. Having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I also have decided to write an accurate account for you, most honorable Theophilus, so you can be certain of the truth of everything you were taught.” God was saying to me “your testimonies are your own eye witness report. Share your testimonies to draw people unto me.” I wanted women to find a connectio...

Blessed with Reminders

Image
When you think you have lost yourself, God will always help you find your way back. I remember a time when I felt like my life was falling apart, but God was right there to remind me of my purpose. We can all use a reminder. One day I was in church physically, but mentally I was not there. I felt completely disconnected. So God sent one of the intercessors over to me. She started praying about everything I was going through during that season, but before ending the prayer God used her to remind me of who I was and how he views me. God used her to remind me of his promises. My trials and tribulations have a purpose. God needed me to just hold on and be content. He needed me to sit back and allow him to work through some things. I needed that reminder to find my self and aligned myself with Christ. As I put myself together and started trusting God; things were beginning to work in my favor. Some times we are in a hurry to get to the top or to correct our mistakes. God has our bac...

Blessing in Friendships.

Image
We all know by now that friendships don’t always last forever. Some friendships are just for a season. In that season God uses that person(s) to bring something out of you. I’m in a space in life where my circle of friends has changed. Although God has replaced the friends I have lost; I am truly grateful for each friendship. In this season God has given me friends that have become my sisters through Christ. Each one of them has played a part in my spiritual development; rather it is to hold me accountable for my thoughts and actions or to push me to new heights in my walk with Christ. God has given me sisters who won’t let me go back to partying and drinking alcohol. He has given me sisters to remind me of the spiritual gifts he has implanted in me. I shared this to say it is okay to lose friends because God will replace them with who you need in life. Although it may hurt or feel like a loss, it is actually a blessing. Each friendship helps build your character and integrity. T...

There's a blessing that comes with pain.

Image
There are blessings that come with pain. I know you're reading this thinking "what blessing could possibly come from pain?" For my mothers out there, you've experienced contractions during childbirth, but after the contractions came a beautiful baby. What a blessing!! In my life, I have been a victim of situations most women my age would never survive. I trained my self to block out things that happened to me and to hide my emotions. I promised myself to never let anyone get too close to me. I feared being hurt. God gave me a dream to help me come to my senses. I would like to share it with you. In my dream I was walking with my friend and surrounding us was chaos. You can see people crying, buildings burning, and loud sirens. I could see my mother crying in the middle of the road and my family hovering over her. I asked "what's wrong?", but no one answered. It was like I wasn't even there. My friend then said, "turn around and look"....

The Blessing In Sowing A Seed.

Image
There are blessings that come with sowing seeds. Some of us sow seeds tithing faithfully or even sowing seeds through our ministry work. We have all heard the phrase you "Reap what you sow!" That phrase isn't always meant to be taken in a negative connotation. When you sow a seed God will always bless you with a harvest. I would like to share with you how God blessed me for sowing seeds faithfully. God was lining things up for me and I didn't even know it. My commute to work has not been the greatest experience. Driving every day in traffic to work takes me almost 2 hours to get there and 2 hours to get home, for a drive that should typically take 25 minutes. I'm sure you are now imagining my frustration. Commuting to this job caused me to make a few sacrifices that I must admit I am not happy about. After praying I decided that it was time to make moves. On Monday June 3rd I decided to up date my resume. On Tuesday June 4th I applied for several positions. ...

Blessed to have God's grace.

Image
God gives us grace even when we are undeserving of it. I can count numerous times God gave me grace even when I was living recklessly. I would like to share with you two situations where God gave me grace. In 2013 I was with my friends having a few drinks when I received a call from a guy I was dating off and on. He asked me to go grab food with him and I agreed to go. I got in the car with him and we drove about 3 minutes from my home before our car collided with another. I did not have a seat belt on, but by the grace of God I walked away with minor scratches, a few bruises, and a strained shoulder; when I should have been ejected from the vehicle. In 2016 I was changing my 8 days old baby's diaper when she sneezed and suddenly turned blue around the mouth, which let me know she could not breathe. I quickly instructed her dad to call 911 as I started to breathe into her mouth. My baby had regained color, but about a minute later she turned blue again. Starting the steps ove...

The Blessing In Little People.

Image
There are so many blessings that come with having children. On December 13, 2016, God blessed me with a beautiful little girl. Although, my relationship with her father wasn't your "fairy tale story", there was a blessing in her birth. Having my daughter lead me back to Christ. I was not new to the Christian faith, but I chose not to live the life of a believer. On September 23, 2017, I decided to christen my daughter, which was the first step of how God used her life to draw me closer to him. From that day forward I made the decision to take my daughter to church every Sunday. Proverb 22:6 "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it". I stand strong on that scripture. My grandmother took me to church faithfully as a child. Even though I went astray, here I am in my late 20s proud to say I am a woman of God. Afraid that my daughter would make all the terrible decisions I made; I begin to change my lifestyle. I ...
